- Johannesburg Botanic Garden
Nelson Mandela Bridge
This bridge is 284 meters long and known as the largest cable-stayed bridge in South Africa. The bridge took two years to complete and cost around R38-billion. It carries two lanes of traffic and also includes two sidewalks and bicycle lane.
Johannesburg Art Gallery
Johannesburg Art Gallery is located right in the middle of the central business district on the corner of Klein and King Street. Here you will find work of famous artists including Rodin, Dante, Pablo Picasso and Henry Moore.
Soweto
Just south of Johannesburg lays the suburb of Soweto – a township developed for black people under the apartheid régime. This vibrant area hosts famous landmarks including old president Nelson Mandela’s house, the Sharpeville Memorial Site and the Regina Mundi Church.
Johannesburg Botanic Garden
This garden boasts an array of plants including indigenous trees, succulents and herbs used as traditional African medicine. It is set on the western shores of the Emmarentia Dam in the center of Johannesburg’s Northern Suburbs.
